Turn Your Breakfast Bowl into an Energy Bowl


Call it a breakfast bowl or a smoothie bowl, there’s no denying these nutrient-packed meals are a hot trend. They’re also an ideal way to get your morning Älsa – just stir it in and you’ve got a healthy energy bowl that will give you a steady boost well into the afternoon.

Here are a few tips to create your own energy bowl:

Think smoothie with a spoon.
Start with your favorite fruit smoothie recipe (add greens like spinach or kale to make it extra nutrient-dense or plain Greek yogurt for a protein punch). Keep in mind that you want this smoothie thick, so go heavy on the fruit and light on the liquid. For ease in the morning, make your smoothie the night before and pop it in the fridge. Then, just spoon into a bowl when you’re ready to eat.

Add energy.
Stir in a packet of your favorite Älsa flavor

Have fun with fruit.
Top your energy bowl with chopped or sliced fresh fruit, berries, dried fruit, or a combination. Extra points if you get creative with presentation, because why not? Think rows of mango, banana and kiwi, or concentric circles of berries.  

Finish with crunch.
Give your bowl a satisfying crunch and even more nutritional value with a sprinkling of nuts, seeds and other toppings. A few options: chopped almonds or walnuts; chia, hemp or sunflower seeds; pomegranate seeds; granola, plain oats or muesli; and unsweetened coconut flakes.
